St. John's Wort and CBD Salve (1 or 2 oz.)

Description This salve is great for soothing all kinds of skin irritations. St. John’s Wort is an ancient healing guardian known to help elevate mood and when applied topically is amazing at alleviating a multitude of skin issues. Nicholas Culpeper, an English botanist, herbalist, astrologer and physician from the 1600’s, states that this herb “is under the celestial sign Leo, and the dominion of the Sun…it is a singular wound herb, healing inward hurts or bruises,” and that as an ointment “it opens obstructions, dissolves swelling and closes up the lips of wounds. While you may already be more familiar with Lavender, we chose this herb for her pain relief and abilities to relieve skin irritations, along with its naturally calming scent. In fact, lavender was the herb which led to aromatherapy! René-Maurice Gattefossé, a chemist from the 1930s, burned his hand in his laboratory and applied lavender oil to treat the burn. He was so impressed by the quick healing process that he published a book, “Aromathérapie: Les Huiles Essentielles, Hormones Végétales,” and thus the word aromatherapy was born.
